INFO – Grossmann: Die Kunstgewerbe-Manufaktur Grossmann Reit im Winkl entstand offiziell 1948 aus der Not heraus, in Gudensberg bei Kassel. Das Zeichentalent der Mutter Martha Grossmann erwies sich nach dem Ende des 2. Weltkriegs als Segen für das Familienunternehmen. 1956 erfolgte der Umzug nach Reit im Winkl. Selbst in den 1990er Jahren waren noch 26 Mitarbeiter beschäftigt – es wurde weltweit Märchen-Holzbilder und Kinder-Garderoben verkauft und verschickt. INFO – DIE GROSSMANN-ZWERGE: Zwerge waren quasi die Spezialität von Grossmann Reit im Winkl aus Bayern. Sie entwickelten sich über ein halbes Jahrhundert hinweg. In den 1940er und 1950er Jahren wurden die Figuren noch komplett handbemalt, später kam der Siebdruck. Auch die Gesichter veränderten sich im Laufe der Zeit. Die Köpfe wurden gemäß dem Kindchenschema größer und (noch) niedlicher, wie bei vielen anderen Herstellern auch.

🇬🇧 INFO – THE GROSSMANN DWARFS: The wood picture “specialty” of Grossmann Reit im Winkl in Bavaria were their beautiful dwarfs which were still hand-painted in the first 10 years. Those cute gnomes evolved over half a century. Their heads became bigger and (still) cuter according to the so-called Kindchenschema. That was the case with many fairy tale wood picture producers at that time. (4/4)
