1940s Mertens-Kunst: Bad Witch in Dull War Colors

Hand-painted on 3mm-plywood. This is one of many pale wall figures produced during the 2nd World War. The colors were applied very thinly and the shiny lacquering layer was missing, sometimes poor wood was used, too. There was no quality material available during the war years.
