1960s Edelholz Freiberg: Turquoise Proud Snow White

Someone who grew up in the GDR once told me this: Before the fall of the Berlin Wall, protesting in the GDR was forbidden, so some artists showed hidden protest on wall figures. Snow White here walks determinedly to where she wants to go. Maybe it was a hidden yearning to be able to do the same. Plus: Grumpy dwarfs with clenched fist! Hand-painted on 3mm-plywood.
