Musikzimmer-Holzbild / 1940er Hellerkunst: Früher Musikzwerg mit Laute 26cm (Handbemalt) 🇬🇧 Old Wood Plaque: Naked Knees Dwarf with Lute
🇬🇧 THE HELLER MUSIC DWARFS: Magda Heller’s music dwarfs kept evolving over half a century. Their instruments were flute, shawm, lute, fiddle and double bass. Or sheet music – in that case, their own voice was the instrument!

I have a Heller Kunst Calle day with this character on it. The paint is beginning to chip. Can you tell me how to repair it and how to take care of it. I think it is from the late 50s.
Cheryl
🍄 Hello Chery,
That sounds great! I just googled Calle day – is that the Carnival Boy with the pointy hat? I’d love to see a picture of him; that’s one of the rare figures that I don’t have a good picture of. If you write via CONTACT I can write back an E-Mail and you can send the picture, if you’d like to. About your question – I once booked an 50€ hour with a national restorer – she fixes expensice paintings. Her advice however was, to not even clean my wood pictures. You’d do more damage than good, she said, and the authenticity would be gone. I do clean them sometimes, but I never overpaint.
Greetings from Germany, Christiane
