ILONA VAIS, FRANKREICH: Die Märchen-Holzbilder aus dem 20. Jahrhundert wurden zu 99 % in Deutschland produziert, aber es gab auch Hersteller aus anderen Ländern, vor allem aus den Niederlanden. Aus Frankreich kenne ich bisher nur das Atelier von Ilona Vais, und das auch nur, weil sie glücklicherweise einen ausführlichen Rückseiten-Stempel verwendet hat: „Original Ilona Vais, Reproduction Interdit“ (Kopieren verboten). Wegen der französischen Sprache käme auch Belgien als Ursprungsland in Frage, allerdings ist Französisch dort nur eine von mehreren Landessprachen. Ich kenne bisher nur sieben Märchen-Holzbilder von Ilona Vais, zum Beispiel einen niedlichen Gestiefelten Kater, eine Kutsche, ein Schloss, Bäume, Blumen und Fliegenpilze. Vermutlich gehörten sie einmal zu einem Diorama. Es sind wunderschöne Holzbilder, sehr hochwertig, sehr filigran und noch komplett handbemalt. 🇬🇧 ILONA VAIS, FRANCE: 99% of the children’s wood pictures from the last century were produced in Germany, but there were also manufacturers from other countries, especially the Netherlands. So far I only know the studio of Ilona Vais from France, and that just because she fortunately used a detailed stamp on the back: “Original Ilona Vais, Reproduction Interdit” (copying prohibited). Because of the French language, Belgium could also be considered as a country of origin, but French is only one of several national languages there. So far I only know seven children’s wood plaques by Ilona Vais, for example a cute Puss in Boots, a carriage, a castle, trees, flowers and fly agaric mushrooms. They probably once belonged to a diorama. They are beautiful figures, very high quality, very original and still completely hand-painted. Does anyone know more about the wood plaques by Ilona Vais?
