INFO Märchen-Holzbilder / Manufakturen / Hosenmatz: Von Hosenmatz stammt z.B. die markante rote Raben-Elfe auf dem Ast. Diese Wandfiguren wirken sehr alt und sind vermutlich aus den 1930er Jahren. Auf den meisten Rückseiten steht: “Original Handarbeit, Hosenmatz, gesch.” (geschützt). Dieser Kunstgewerbe-Hersteller hatte nicht nur den originellen Namen “Hosenmatz”, sondern auch sehr originelle Motive, oft mit einem leicht dunklen, leuchtenden Rot. Bisher kenne ich keine Brüder-Grimm-Märchen von Hosenmatz; es sind vor allem Kinder und Erwachsene. Beispiele: Die erschrockene rasante Skifahrerin, das Mädchen im gelben Tulpenrock mit den vielen kleinen Blümchen, der kleine Enzian-Engel mit Schlaghosen, ein Tanzpaar in Tracht, das tänzelnde Mädchen mit dem Riesen-Blumenstrauß und der “Party”-Zwerg mit der Glocke. Weiß jemand mehr über diesen alten Spielzeug-Hersteller? Bitte melden Sie sich!

🇬🇧 German Wall Figures / Manufactories / Hosenmatz: A striking figure by Hosenmatz is the Red Raven Elf on a Branch. The Hosenmatz wood plaques look very old and probably date from the 1930s. On most of the backs it says: “Original handwork, Hosenmatz, gesch.” (geschützt for protected). This decorative arts manufacturer had the funny German name “Hosenmatz” which actually means “Tiny Tod”; and their motives were rather original, too. The figures show mostly children, teenagers and adults; I haven’t seen the classic Brothers Grimm themes so far. Hosenmatz often uses the color red, in a bright, dark hue. Examples: The fast and frightened ski girl, the girl in the yellow tulip skirt with lots of little flowers, the little gentian angel with bell-bottoms, the dancing couple in traditional costumes, the dancing girl with the giant bouquet of flowers and the “Party Gnome” with the bell.
