1930s Gerheina ☆ Blue Dwarf with Fly Agaric Mushroom

One of the typical Gerheina Dwarfs: Enter “Gerheina” in the search top right and compare the bases! If you hold the figure in your hands you will see the very matte colors. I think there is a matte varnish because the paint does not smear, but it looks very fragile. A thick glossy coat always adds to the stabiliy of a wall figure. Here’s a thought: Maybe the Gerheina motives were not supposed to be for nursery decoration. In the hands of adults the fragility of the paint layer didn’t count so much. Hand-painted on wood and very rare. And of course – a beautiful color scheme with a great fly agaric mushroom motive!
