HOBBYARBEITEN, OFT KAUM UNTERSCHEIDBAR: Teilweise kann man kaum sagen, ob eine Figur eine Hobbyarbeit ist oder eine Manufakturen-Arbeit. Wenn ich die Vorlage kenne (und ich kenne Hunderte von Vorlagen von Graupner, Pebaro, Vobach, Signo und anderen), dann ist die Zuordnung kein Problem. Manchmal aber bin ich unsicher, zumal es um die Jahrhundertmitte herum Hunderte von Manufakturen gab, die nicht alle hochwertige Figuren herstellten. Und um es noch komplizierter zu machen: Es gab auch einige Manufakturen, die sich auf Kopien von anderen Manufakturen oder auf Motive von Vorlagen-Herstellern spezialisiert hatten.

🇬🇧 HOBBY CRAFTS, SOMETIMES HARD TO TELL APART: Sometimes it’s hard to say if a German Wall Figure was a hobby work or made by a manufacturer. If I know the template (and I’ve known hundreds of motifs by Graupner, Pebaro, Vobach, Signo and others), then it’s easy to tell. But sometimes I’m not sure, especially since there were hundreds of manufacturers around the middle of the last century, and not all of them produced high-quality items. To make it even more complicated: There were actually some manufacturers who had specialized in copying other manufacturers’ motifs or used motifs from templates. (Buch/25)
