INFO Märchen-Holzbilder / Manufakturen / Holland, “Handarbeid”: Eine sehr markante Figure dieses Herstellers ist ein Junge, der auf einem Pelikan reitet. Dieses niederländische Atelier hat wohl in den 1930er und 1940er Flachfiguren aus Holz produziert. Auf den Rückseiten steht oft “Handarbeid Holland”, häufig in roter Stempelfarbe. Der Stil ist ein wenig wechselhaft; es gibt sehr runde Augen, aber auch Augen, die im Profil eine Art Dreiecksform aufweisen. Die Umrisse wurden offenbar aufgedruckt, das sieht man bei einem Angler-Zwerg, der gerade einen Fisch fängt: Dort ist das Vorderseiten-Motiv auch auf auf die Rückseite gedruckt worden; vorne ist es bemalt, hinten unbemalt. Weitere Motive zeigen unterschiedliche Zaun-Kinder sowie ein niedliches Puppen-Mädchen mit Waschzuber und Seifenkiste, auf der manchmal auch das holländische Wort “Zeep” (Seife) steht. 🇬🇧 German Wall Figures / Manufactories / Holland, “Handarbeid”: A very striking figure by this manufacturer is a boy riding a pelican. This Dutch studio probably produced their wall figures in the 1930s and 1940s. There is often the stamp “Handarbeid Holland”, on the back; most of the time in red stamp ink. The style it not always the same: There are very round eyes, but also eyes that have a kind of triangular shape (profile view). The outlines were apparently printed on, as you can see on a fishing dwarf with a lake: The front motif was also printed on the back, but the back only shows the outlines, not the colors like on the front. There are several cute different children motifs with fences and there also is a girl with dolls and washtub standing on a soap box, which sometimes also has the Dutch word “Zeep” (soap) written on it.
