GOLDMARIE UND PECHMARIE: Die historischen Märchenholzbilder von Goldmarie und Pechmarie traten meist als Einzelfiguren auf. Goldmarie ist das gute und hilfsbereite Mädchen, das später mit Gold belohnt wird. Es gibt einige Wandfiguren, auf denen die Goldmarie zusammen mit Frau Holle zu sehen ist, aber es gibt kaum eine Frau Holle mit der Pechmarie zusammen auf einem Holzbild. Die Attribute der Goldmarie: Goldtor, Goldmünzen, Hahn, Brunnen, Spindel oder auch eine Wolke, auf der sie ein Kissen ausschüttelt, aus dem es schneit. Die Pechmarie ist oft weinend zu sehen und meist auch mit dem schwarzen Pech.

🇬🇧 Gold Mary and Pitch Mary: Gold Mary and Pitch Mary are sisters, one good, one bad. Most often they are depicted on separate Germanwallfigures. There are some German Wall Figures where Mother Holle / Mother Hulda is shown together with the Gold Mary, but you’ll hardly see Mother Holle together with the Pitch Mary on one wood picture. In the end, they both get “rewarded”: one with gold, one with pitch. The attributes of the Gold Mary: Gold gate, gold coins, rooster, well, spindle or a cloud on which she is shaking a pillow thus making it snow. The Pitch Mary is often depicted crying, most of the time you’ll see the black pitch, too. (4/5)
