1960s Ravi-Kunst: Hans in Luck without Base

Hand-painted on plywood, 23cm. From the 1960s onwards there was a tendency to show the faces on fairy tale wood pictures as young children’s faces. The technical term for this is Kindchenschema. Google this: “cuteness wiki”. There they explain the Kindchenschema. The most striking and simplified attribute is this: Big heads. (“M/4 Hans im Glück John in fortune / Handgemalt Hamburg” / only stamps, no paper stripe).
